The governments of Namikoru were military governments due to the constant warring in the mainland. In most factions and territories, the most capable generals wee those who would rule the land. These generals had to either have many years of experience, or they have to have committed a major feat during a battle to earn the favor of the village elders. These village elders were those who decided the new leader of the land. There was the occasional military government hat passed down the power from the ruler to his son. If the leader didn’t have a on and instead had a daughter, the current leader would find a general who he thought would be capable of ruling his land. This decision was all done without thinking of his daughter. If the military leader were to die in battle, then the village elders would seize power and lead the land until another capable general came along that could lead them. If they couldn’t find a new military leader within the next few months, then the most capable of all the village elders would rule the region. There were many occasions where the current military leader would end up funneling all funds that the region had from trade into the military, by buying weaponry and armor for his army. The positive side of this is that they would protect their land much more easily and also be able to expand and conquer nearby villages with little effort, but the bad part of this is that the area was poor most of the time from lack of support from their government.
